The Great Ape Trust Institute is working on a project to create a functional application that enables communication between humans and monkeys. The software works on both the Android (for humans use on tablets) and Windows (for primates use the symbols on large touchscreen screens).
Basically, Bonobo Chat can translate simple terms from English to lexigrams (simple figures for understanding animals). The project also includes the development of robots that can be controlled from a distance and that guarantee the best communication between humans and monkeys. The prototype is already functional, but the application can only be finalized if the institution is able to raise funds to complete it.
