
Facebook launched an additional feature that allows to identify homoaffective unions, released the GLAAD site. From now on, users who indicate that married a person of the same sex in the timeline will see an icon that represents two male grooms or two brides, instead of seeing a representation of a heterosexual couple.
The news follows the trend of other efforts in Facebook inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT), as the network of support to anti-gay bullying, established in 2010 in partnership with several organizations.
Last month, Facebook was the first social networking company to receive a GLAAD Media Awards, which recognizes companies, professionals and persons favorable to gay rights.
